November 3rd NaNoWriMo event has been cancelled. Please let us know if you would be interested in participating in a Script Frenzy event in honor of the annual April Script Frenzy pursuit of 100 pages of script in 30 days. Contact artswh@aol.com if interested and we will work on putting something together.

Until then, enjoy your 50K word pursuit during the November frenzy that is National Novel Writers Month! May your computer not freeze, may the coffee run freely and may the muse be with you. :)

Look for 'writerobrien' in the Connecticut Shoreline forum and become a NaNoWriMo buddy. Most importantly, good luck writing 50,000 words before the end of November!

November 3rd NaNoWriMo Event at the West Haven Public Library

How would you like to be able to sport this badge on your blog, website or in every email you send out in November? If you participate in National Novel Writers Month this November, you can!

Yes, that’s a lot of words, but you can do it! Join online at http://www.NaNoWriMo.org and then join other writers at the West Haven Public Library’s Main Branch on November 3rd from 9am to 3pm to get started on your own ‘great American novel.’ If you have commitment issues and don’t want to join the online group, no problem! Grab your laptop, notebook or a bunch of napkins on which to write and come to the library on November 3rd. We will welcome you with open arms and lunch in exchange for your donation of $25. All proceeds support the West Haven Council on the Arts’ support of the arts in West Haven.

A little more about NaNoWriMo:

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a nonprofit event that encourages kids and adults to tackle the challenge of writing a novel in November. Launched in 1999, NaNoWriMo inspires its estimated 300,000 participants with email pep talks, a huge and supportive online community, and a host of web-based writing tools. Additionally, volunteers called Municipal Liaisons (MLs) in nearly 600 regions organize local writing events and get-togethers that transform novel-writing into an achievable and fun community endeavor. Go to http://www.NaNoWriMo.org for more information and to sign up.

Join the West Haven Council on the Arts on November 3rd, 9-3pm at the Main Branch of the West Haven Public Library, 300 Elm St., West Haven, CT, to get a start on your 50,000 words during National Novel Writers Month.

For more information, contact Event Organizer, Rosemary O’Brien at artswh@aol.com or by calling 203.499.7416. Be sure to use NaNoWriMo in the subject line for a quicker response.

Happy noveling!
